Martin Steiner has been with Tappolet & Partner since 1st March 1990. His area of practice includes national tax law, with special emphasis on the interrelation between taxation and social security law. In addition, he has extensive experience in inheritance and matrimonial property law as well as in the area of corporate restructurings. He is a member of both the Swiss and the Zurich Bar Association.

Martin Steiner holds a Law Degree from the University of Zurich (lic. iur, 1972). From 1973 to 1976 he was assistant lecturer to Prof. Dr. Emil W. Stark at the University of Zurich. In 1978 he obtained a doctorate in Law, also at the University of Zurich, and was admitted to the bar in Switzerland in 1980. From 1980 to 1990 he practiced at the Zurich Cantonal Tax Office, where from 1984 he held the position of Head of the Legal Department. From 1999 to 2011 he was a member of the Tax Appeals Committee of the canton of Zurich.
